Guys,
Christmas time is coming, I am thinking of getting a small netbook for my wife, and since i have enjoyed assembling a couple of computers recently and I was wondering if it makes any sense to try to build my own netbook.
I tried to look for barebone laptops and parts on the net, but my yesterday night quick search was pretty unfruitful.
do you have any suggestion/advise on the topic?
thanks

Build-your-own-laptops do exist but for netbooks its a lot more rare. OCZ once had a DIY netbook but its gone and they only have notebooks now.

Im thinking it wouldnt be cost effective to do so.
If laptops are available to build,Why not look for a 12 or 13 inch screen model.
Maybe the parts are available for something like a small laptop.

If you do this for fun and learning effect, go for it. If you want to save money and have an efficient device, buy a complete netbook.
I'm so meta, even this acronym

Sometimes part of the fun is the build.
If thats the case i agree with you.

it was meant to be a bit of fun for me, and at the same time a good way to give an useful present to my wife trying to save some money.
anyway i guess i will stick to buying one, even if i decided to go for the home-made build i don't seem to be abe to find any netbook parts....
thanks, a lot for your help
