I have finally came to find you, crunchbang brothers!

Dear All,

There is a time when running Ubuntu is not fully satisfying anymore, when you want a little less bloat, when you want to right click and have that awesome openbox menu come up on your screen. Well, this time has come for me.

After looking around carefully, no doubt #! would be my next distro. I am currently running Statler in virtualbox along with ubuntu just to make sure the transition would be as smooth as can be (I have only one machine and need to be able to use it) before the final switch.

Anyway, nice meeting you folks!

I love #! more than my own kids. I told them and they sympathized.

Welcome, you wont regret it, im using regular debian with xfce on 2 computers and then new Crunchbang,
All i can say is, from Windows to Ubuntu was awesome..then i fiddled around and tried some alternatives.
But tbh i got fed up with all the politics and do this,do that the buntusphere so from now on im only going to use Debian derivates.

Also the unstable and testing has never been unstable for me=) works so good
Hmm long rant-ish.

Welcome again bro and hope you do the switch wink

I too have conformed to the Debian way from fedora, I always had a hunch Deb would be my favorite but I could never get a working Debian ISO burnt to a disk even with correct md5sums, but I got one now and I have Debian/#! and working on an Arch install.
And I must say Deb or GTFO. wink

@anonymous:  I don't know if that's Japanese or Chinese kanji, but I'm pretty sure the standard East Asian unicode font packs will cover it.

Welcome to #! smile

Kind of annoying to have to keep one machine up and running for work/school/whatever, but better than NOT having a machine up and running... Still, this way, you clear an entire weekend in your calendar for the install. Installing #! only takes about 20 minutes, so you have the rest of the weekend to play!

Re: I have finally came to find you, crunchbang brothers!

Thank you very much for the warm welcome everyone. I had read that the folks on the #! forum were friendly. well that's an understatement.

Johnraff, どうも!I might ask you some stuff about Japanese fonts in case I cannot work it out by myself so よろしくお願いします!

As soon as I have a bit more time I will switch completely to #! , can't wait to post from there.
Thanks again!

It was just kiiroitori in Japanese. (The third い "kana" distinguishes it from Chinese.) Means Yellow Bird. smile

@kiiroitori glad to help if I can, but others have discussed Japanese, Chinese and Korean input before so you could also try searching the forum.
