Touchpad not working on my two laptops

The touchpad is not working in live mode on my old acer aspire 1300 and newer dell inspiron 1525.

I have tried both the openbox and xfce i686 versions. Does this indicate the need for a specific driver to address the need? Or is it a kernal problem?

The xfce looks really cool. Am looking forward to the stable version.

Re: Touchpad not working on my two laptops

Input devices - system information on the live Slitaz distro for my dell inspiron 1535 says that I have a AT Transalated set 2 keyboard. Other than that, I am not sure where to look or how.
