No problem. And I'll be looking for you when I'm there next 8o - need to get my salt water license renewed first.
How is the shark situation there these days?

@HoaS, nice! I'll have to play with that ARC theme, it's growing on me (much like your Vertex icon suggestion).
@packrat, I'm a couple of hours south of Myrtle Beach. I haven't heard of any bitings for over a month.
I asked damo to add a few more wallpapers to BL and he was happy to oblige...

You are sort of advertising Arch Linux in your screeny.

Better is subjective, and also depends on "for what?", Arch tends to have newer versions of things than even debian's testing branch, but it's higher maintenance, and more subject to borkage that requires intervention to fix, particularly when updating. In contrast, by the time things reach debian stable, they've been around long enough to be pounded on and for the bugs to have either been fixed, or at least to have become known.. you pays your money and takes your choice, For a server I wouldn't consider Arch, for a desktop, it becomes moot according to what you need and your use pattern.
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed...

IMO, Arch is far better suited to those who want the latest packages and a system with no abstraction or complication.
My main systems run Arch 'cos it's simple to use & very robust and flexible.
OTOH, Debian stable is *much* better than Arch for use in mission-critical applications as its stability and reliability is un-matched.

@ ohnonot
This thread is the lighthearted area, just some screenshots and some light-hearted banter.
Arch 64 bit with an old fashioned Tint2, Pamac upgrading apps--firefox 41 here and the standard #! menu. Usually I use pacman, but for the screeny.
This was a month ago Arch 32 bit

Damo, I don't write British English, so could you explain what is this "trolling flavour?" Is my way of writing English troubles you, or is it something else?

what is this "trolling flavour?"
it means, you deliberately ask questions whose sole purpose is to create more or less heated and 100% pointless discussions.
also, every schoolkid knows that there's no real answer to questions like these.
and this is not the first time for you, so doubly so: don't pretend that you don't know what we're talking about.
gah.

Very nice!
Can't find Arc theme on Openbox. Would you be creating one?
You are using Nautilus. How do you find working without the menu?
[Off topic]
@ohnonot
I asked the question from HoaS, and he replied. HoaS is quite active in Arch forums, and his reply is enough for me.[/Off topic]

I use Thunar, though I was a big fan of Nautilus for a long time.
@ohnonot, don't worry, I'll switch to a less creepy character soon enough. Coma-Doof Warrior FTW.

@hhh is using Thunar, and the menu toolbar can be toggled on/off with Ctrl-M (This can be a frustrating gotcha for those that don't know, and have hidden the menu by mistake! )
