I didn't "get" #! at first, maybe withdrawl, did I need icons & widgets everywhere?
But after an hour or so, wow a revelation, #! just works and it feels right.
Wouldn't have suited when I first migrated to Linux, but now (when I only have a little trepidation when I stare into the dark depths of the terminal) it seems like a logical progression.
So thanks, until, If ever I wake up one morning needing plasma, compiz (doubt it), #! will do for me.
.....and 18 months in, XP finally off the drive!

Welcome to the forum.
#! is one well-trained little doggie, innit? It always comes when you call it, does all the tricks you want, but it stays out of your way.

that rang a bell, for me it was the same. the first time i had contact with #! i didn't like it, second time ...
i experienced following pattern with music: i didn't like it the first time i heard it, second time hooked. this is the stuff i listen to for years and counting.
welcome to the forums

I was different. i tried other distros and didn't like em at first. But I like crunchbang instantly because I like dark/black and minimalism.
