What is the output of:

sudo find / -name runescape

Please give more detail -- how *exactly* did you install runescape?

If you answered @Head_on_a_Stick's question first, you may get an answer.

If you'd actually look what I wrote up, I got it from the site, and installed the setup with wine, what else? ... geez.

How much clearer do you need it to be?

...geez tongue

...and from the link I gave you, if you bothered reading it:

If the application doesn't install menu or desktop items, you'll need to run the app from the command line. Remembering where you installed to, something like:

$ wine "C:\Program Files\appname\appname.exe"

Which hasn't answered the questions. You want assistance, so provide the necessary information!

OK, there was an edit after I started answering earlier.

Have you found the executable file for runescape and run it with the wine command?

Re: how do I open oldschool runescape, from wine?

/home/ovi/.wine/drive_c/jagexlauncher/jagexlauncher/oldschool

Is that an executable file, or maybe a directory? Find the path to the executable (probably ending with .exe) and run it in a terminal, as shown in the WineHQ link I gave

3.2. How to run Wine

You can simply invoke the wine command to get a small help message:

Usage: wine PROGRAM [ARGUMENTS...]   Run the specified program
       wine --help                   Display this help and exit
       wine --version                Output version information and exit

The first argument should be the name of the file you want wine to execute. If the executable is in the Path environment variable, you can simply give the executable file name. However, if the executable is not in Path, you must give the full path to the executable. For example, given a Path of the following:

Path="c:\windows;c:\windows\system;e:\;e:\test;f:\"

You could run the file c:\windows\system\foo.exe with:

$ wine foo.exe

However, you would have to run the file c:\myapps\foo.exe with this command:

$ wine c:\\myapps\\foo.exe

(note the backslash-escaped '\') or:

$ wine ~/.wine/drive_c/myapps/foo.exe

dotfiles are hidden, so you need to use "Show Hidden files" (Ctrl+H)

Try it in a terminal

wine ~/path/to/JagexLauncher.exe

If it doesn't work, then copy and paste the terminal output here, using [ code ] tags

You search for how to run jar files in linux - lots of info on the interweb. The usual command (assuming you have java runtime environment) is

java -jar /path/to/filename.jar

Check java with

java -version

Re: how do I open oldschool runescape, from wine?

There is a forum search icon at the top right of the page - that should be the first thing you use when you have a crunchbang question wink If that doesn't help, then ask here....

You can install java from the repos with

sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jre

(I think that is the version for Crunchbang 11, but you need to do your own checks)
