Why would you think that? You can't even upload graphics files or any type of file for that matter.

^ Not on the CrunchBang forums.
What you can do is upload a file(s) to an online storage site that allows sharing and then enter the link to the file(s) in your post.

why do the mods indulge so many threads like this?
crunchbang forums still is a valuable source of problem-solving knowledge for many users, but this is being watered down extremely rapidly ever since corenominals announcement.
the percentage of rant, rant, rant has increased manyfold. mods often participating.
if bunsenlabs wants to continue with this beautiful legacy (the crunchbang forums) and build upon it, they better start bringing the forums back on track.
i mean we don't have to go to extremes like e.g. bbs.archlinux.org, but at least not encourage this sort of...
please, close it down. or at least move it to off topic, for bunsenlab's sake.

well it seems my exasparated cry does not meet any (at least outspoken) support. whatever.
i deliberately did not want to start a new thread for this, because i do not wish to start a war of flame or FUD. and because i know that most people will read this anyway because there's just not so much happening on the forums right now.
i'm a bit surprised that my comment seems to have been interpreted as purely negative, but upon re-reading it i must admit that the bit where this is based on daily research and an attempt at being constructive, does not show so well.
and it was a little impulsive.
but chances are, if you click the "Topics: ... New" button every now and then, you will see what i mean.
but then again, maybe i am a little paranoid and should just relax; it's not like the forum is drowning in posts right now.
i guess only time can tell how it will develop.

@ohnonot -- the forums have pretty much died since corenomial's announcement, there are now only old users and a trickle of newcomers.
Perhaps things will change once BunsenLabs is officially released but at the moment this is basically a social forum with some parts devoted to BL development.
Also, my comment was intended as a joke rather than a criticism; I'm sorry if it offended you.

Careful, if you go full Nazi on what's allowed in the forums, you may make the place seem less hospitable and steer other potential community members away.
I didn't see a rant at all in the initial post but maybe our definitions of the word differ greatly. If it's simply a rambling post that has no value toward the project at all, like this one, just dump it in general discussion and move on, no skin off anybody's nose.

About 300 new members since 6th Feb. Roughly 40% of them banned/spammers so 150 or so real new members.

Thank you for the correction, that is quite heartening.
It does definitely seem quieter though, I miss logging in and finding half a dozen problems to (attempt to) solve...

What is the sense of this topic? I can't understand what is the author asking for? (I think that I misspoke this sentence)

It was just a simple question which was answered in the second post.
Then I hijacked the thread for my own nefarious purposes...

If you really must know what motivated me to post such a silly question about posting zips in here as there is another person that I was trying to help out and was just going to post a zip file for him instead of posting all of that code / script stuff in the many files I had to give him so he be able to go though them and hopefully find a solution to his dilemma. it just put me into shock I guess so my brain just shut down and made me post this silly question as if I was talking to someone in here as if he where standing right next to me in hopes he'd help me get my brain out of lock down for a lack of a better way to say that .... gibbity gibbity gibbity
