Bunsen-themes.tar.gz

https://dl.orangedox.com/PWRbfU2Guu1Ltd … mes.tar.gz

Contains 6 themes for GTK/Openbox/Xfce4-notifyd, plus one for LightDM. These themes replace the current individual themes on GitHub. Note the ReadMe files for the dark themes. Remember to set all 3 themes... openbox (obconf), gtk (lxappearance), notifications (xfce4-notifyd-config).

The LightDM theme should be in /usr/share/themes and gets called by /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf. Sample...

#
# background = Background file to use, either an image path or a color (e.g. #772953)
# theme-name = GTK+ theme to use
# icon-theme-name = Icon theme to use
# font-name = Font to use

# xft-hintstyle = What degree of hinting to use (none, slight, medium, or hintfull)
# xft-rgba = Type of subpixel antialiasing (none, rgb, bgr, vrgb or vbgr)
# show-indicators = semi-colon ";" separated list of allowed indicator modules. Built-in indicators include "~a11y", "~language", "~session", "~power". Unity indicators can be represented by short name (e.g. "sound", "power"), service file name, or absolute path
# show-clock (true or false)
# clock-format = strftime-format string, e.g. %H:%M
# keyboard = command to launch on-screen keyboard
# position = main window position: x y
# default-user-image = Image used as default user icon, path or #icon-name
# screensaver-timeout = Timeout (in seconds) until the screen blanks when the greeter is called as lockscreen

"Bright white"? What do you mean - it's only #d9d9d9: virtually a grey colour!

Re: Bunsen-themes.tar.gz

@damo, many thanks!

re: colors, it's easy to change the color palette in these themes. Choose a light or dark theme and open it's (example)~/.themes/Bunsen/gtk-3.0/gtk.css file and change the hex codes.

http://www.colorpicker.com/

Do the same with /gtk-2.0/gtkrc and /xfce-notify-4.0/gtkrc.

Re: Bunsen-themes.tar.gz

Very nice!

Thank you!
smile

EDIT: From your README.md:

$ ./autogen

I think that should be:

./autogen.sh

Will this only run in GNOME?

In DWM (Arch, with GTK3 installed), I'm getting a blank window with this terminal output:

(gcolor3:5361): Gtk-WARNING **: No object called: stack

(gcolor3:5361): Gtk-CRITICAL **: Unable to retrieve object 'palette' from class template for type 'Gcolor3Window' while building a Gcolor3Window'

EDIT: Using the standard "Adwaita" theme BTW.
unia.jpg
I'll try in my Debian Sid GNOME 3.14 desktop later.

EDIT2: Same result in Debian Sid running a full GNOME 3.14.1 desktop (Adwaita theme, same error messages).

@hhh -- very nice theme, thank you!

Absolutely no error messages at all  cool

Re: Bunsen-themes.tar.gz

Oh whoops, master is currently in development. I have it fully functioning local, but need to clean it up before pushing. There's a tagged release that you can use: https://github.com/Unia/gcolor3/releases

It runs on all desktops, by the way. As long as you have GTK3 installed.

Re: Bunsen-themes.tar.gz

Actually, gcolor3 is fully translateable. I guess I missed it when I made the British English translation O:)

Anyway, back on topic!

I don't mind being corrected. While sometimes it's just me being lazy and not checking for typos, other times it is a genuine mistake that I would like to get corrected. Oh, and I don't have spellcheckers wink

Cyber Psychology quote for the day;

“When people, especially publicly, correct others’ mistakes, a lot of that has to do with signaling to other people,” says Robert Kurzban, a psychology professor at the University of Pennsylvania whose work focuses on the nature of evolved cognitive adaptations for social life. “People are trying to signal their expertise, because being able to identify mistakes indicates that you know more about something than the person who committed the error.”

People are trying to signal their expertise

strange choice of words. Why are them People trying to signal their own expertise in front of others?

Low self-esteem. they have an audience to show off to. as if to say, "look everybody, see how smarter I am than this person I had to correct, see how stupid he or she is?"

they do this in front of everyone in hopes of being able to feed off of their praise so they can feed there poor ego system due to low self esteem.

Edit:

on the theme issue in this topic -- hey look everybody see my theme I just made. is another way of trying to feed ones ego to help with there own self esteem. -- I felt the need to add that so I won't being going off topic too much  O:)

Re: Bunsen-themes.tar.gz

Folks, I have (finally) finished making the bunsen-themes package, the sources are available here: <https://github.com/BunsenLabs/bunsen-themes>.

Everybody who does not want to build it by themself can download a build here: <https://bitbucket.org/2ion/bunsen-builds/downloads>.
