MacBook Pro 1.1

Hey there,
just got a second hand MBP 1.1.
Will Crunchbang speed up my work? Do you see any disadvantages?

Re: MacBook Pro 1.1

Try the #! live environment (there's an option in the GRUB menu screen when the ISO loads up) and see what you think.

Re: MacBook Pro 1.1

Thank you for the tip!

Will try that... just bought it on ebay.
Am still investigating how by experience OS X, #! and Audiophile Linux will behave on that machine respectively and in comparison.

Any hints?

ps: the pc was said to have been upgraded to 2gb

Re: MacBook Pro 1.1

I've seen here in the forums where others have got CrunchBang installed an Macs, but it isn't as easy as on a regular PC.  Some users just run CrunchBang in a virtual machine, but I've never understood that except for trying things out or for security/privacy reasons.  I do run CrunchBang in a VM for accessing government sites.  I trust the U.S. government even less after the Snowden revelations.

Re: MacBook Pro 1.1

So no AUDIOPHILE LINUX on 2gb MacPro Hardware, which is ultimately utilized for music only by audiophile linux???
Imagine audiophile kernel squeezing the apple hardware  tongue
