Re: Distro-hoppers Anonymous

I'm happy with arch and #! animal in both my laptops.

Next step will be to install gentoo again, but this time on the better cpu so I don't have so much trouble with the compiling and if it works (if I like it) I'm gonna configure it to compile the binaries for the other pc (it has a nice way to configure that via make profiles if I'm not mistaken).

But right now I'm busy enough with the four.
Maybe next week though...     glasses

Re: Distro-hoppers Anonymous

Just installed Gentoo (no X). Watching C compile in a terminal gives me a boner, for some reason.

I used genkernel. Don't judge me.

Their documentation is sublime. FreeBSD and Arch have good documentation but Gentoo's is the daddy now.

Re: Distro-hoppers Anonymous

I will keep using Crunchbang, as long as the community keeps it going.  Crunchbang has the most useful forums and helpful users.  But I may drift away a bit.  I am currently looking at the Funtoo web page, ah...maybe I need clinical help?

Re: Distro-hoppers Anonymous

Didn't take to Gentoo. Was looking for a FreeBSD-like Linux. It is and it isn't.
