that doesn't seem too much.
edit: does your firefox has a bunch of addons? disabling them could help you go lighter.
(I just opened firefox to see and it took ~150mb of ram - on a 32bit install)

@saneks, IMO it's quite a lot for a no-DE setup, but looking at 'pstree' or 'htop' will show you what else is running in the background. The graphical browsers are resource hogs, for sure. If RAM is an issue (eg. if you only have 1GB RAM or less), send me a PM and I'll send you some info on how to strip off overhead (down to ~35MB RAM in X).
