I think I prefer KDE5 though, even if it is still a little buggy (rxvt-unicode doesn't respect settings in .Xdefaults -- dafuq?)...

Why stick with urxvt anyway?

Seriously though, yeah I'm using gnome-terminal in KDE5 until I figure it out
I am used to the speed of rxvt-unicode, all the other terminal emulators seem v. slow in comparison.
Try cat-ing large files with the various emulators to see what I mean.
And that's without the startup-time and resource advantages of starting it as a daemon and calling up client windows when required.
I installed bog-stock #! recently and I got frustrated with terminator's tardy startup after about 10 minutes of use.

Oh?
xrdb -query # should match at least the entries in .Xdefaults, if not...
xrdb -merge ~/.Xdefaults # since Xdefaults is seemingly deprecated in favour of .Xresources, might need to be sourced explicitly, and gets ignored by the KDE session...
Hm.

^ Yeah I tried `xrdb -merge` and it still didn't work...
man urxvt says that it should parse .Xdefaults automatically (that's why I use it)
I like problems though -- I'll get to the bottom of it
EDIT: `xrdb -query` shows the settings I want, but they're not being honoured...
It was working briefly, then stopped so it's something in the setup options for KDE.
EDIT AGAIN: Found it!
Settings → Colours → Colours → Window → Set "Normal Background" & "Normal Text" to desired values → Profit!
Sorry for the off-topic everyone!
Now back to your usual program...

Hi 'bangers =)
Been tweaking my desktop (again!) for the past week, and (more or less) my final result! Two tints + two conkys + parametric wallpaper + a lot of other minor graphic modifications (icons, etc).
Hope you like it! (tint and conky configs are available for everyone that wants them!) Pure #! Openbox (but have to admit, with testing repos and only a few sid backports)

@lowrider: Nice scrot! In the future, though, you might want to think twice about posting screenshots of streamripper or anything else that saves streams to disk, as this is technically illegal in many jurisdictions. (Not throwing stones from my glass house, mind you; just trying to anticipate what could result in a report to the mods.)

Hey Pvsage: you do realize you're actually advertising his scrot, don't you?

Showing ripped streams may be questionable, while ripper programs are neutral. There are also streams that are allowed and even couraged to be ripped. It is up to the user how they use their rippers, just like with torrent clients.
