A modern machine with a high-spec SSD is also likely to have plenty of ram and good graphic memory. So unless you want to hibernate, how much swap would ever be written? You could also use a swapfile as a safety net in case ram ever gets filled.

That is bizarre.  Does evince not suit your needs?

I've tried evince - besides it removed the ability to highlight things (since 3.10 ?), its bookmark system is similar to okular (but requires gvfs 8.( ).

If you are interested in a full-fledged PDF app for the Linux environment, and don't mind that it's not free, checkout Qoppa PDF Studio.  I use it on two of my machines.  The nice thing about their license is that you can use one licence under two different instances.  It works very well for my full-fledged PDF purposes.

Looks promising, thanks. big_smile

It's a really nice distro and is very easy to install.  From what I've read, it's one of the few spins whose developers get along with the Arch developers.

Well you know my feel on Arch derivates.. but yes, the lead dev is a Trusted User. (last I checked)

Just tried a new recipe Tuesday night...Lentil-Rice casserole.  It's very tasty, easy to make, and inexpensive.  Even pvsage could afford to eat it, and a little bio diesel would make his bike commute to work easier.  ]:D

Recipe is here for those who are interested.

Interesting programming languages? I'm still a big fan of Piet (named after Piet Mondria(a)n):
See for example this BrainF*ck Interpreter written in Piet:

Or one of the nicest hello world programs you'll ever see:

Don't feel bad...it took me 20 years to finish my degree.  I have no desire to go back for another degree.
