Guess I need a real thumb drive.
In any case, I decided I should try something different (at least until I decide whether or not I want to buy a drive)..

^ True enough.
Crunchbang is already gone. Just can't do Debian stable, anymore. And I didn't feel like waiting for the 700 MB dist-upgrade to Jessie after I had it installed.

Really! Where?
OK - what do you consider "a dime a dozen" would be more in line with? Because they are not cheap here.
Will post a few prices tomorrow.

EDIT: Just to warn people -- that's Windows 10 on the screen, I turned it on at 7pm it's now 9.30pm and it's still updating...
It's a good thing I don't ever have anything important to do.

Like Alad said:
... You'll probably have Win 1|0 and a BSOD when your done.
That would be like this:
1 <-- BSOD --> 0
I could have installed #1 at least twice in that time. ]:D

^ It finally finished at 10pm -- utterly ridiculous; it may be OK to automatically update your desktop at 2am every morning (this is the default setting), but that doesn't work so well on a laptop...
On the up side: GNU/Linux FTW!

I can't believe they AGAIN haven't fixed the slow updating. The reason why I never update the Win7 in my VM? It comes fresh from a 2011 disk and the update process would take days. Probably.
The funny thing about this is that the average Windows user probably believes that her new Intel Xeon workstation needs 4 hours for updating the OS.
Fun fact: The only thing worse I have experienced is the Adobe CS4 installer.

$4.99 for 8 GB on Amazon. Not a dime a dozen, but not too bad. I would only ever buy a small-capacity thumb-drive. Just for installing stuff.
Otherwise, nice big external is better.

If you are going to leave them out on a plate, with little slices of cucumber and savoury biscuits alongside them...what do you expect from hungry crunchbangers coming in to the lounge after a hard round?

The last time I bought some, I got three 16 GB ones for something around $20. I often see smaller ones at the cash register displays in places such as Staples for about $5 each. But I guess I'd better go check actual, current prices before I stick my foot in my mouth. I haven't bought any in a year or two.

PS - Looking at Amazon.com, the first two items that came up in my search are 10 - 8 GB sticks for $31.11 and 10 - 4GB sticks for $27.90. Seems awfully inexpensive, to me.

I know you do and I'm only kidding you.
We have a Prius and it still trips me out to have the doors unlock ( with the keys in your pocket ) and hitting the start button feels more like booting your computer than starting a car.

I know Fred! Cool guy!
I didn't know cars didn't have keys anymore yikes
My mom just bought a new car (Ford Taurus) with a keyed ignition. You can also start it from the remote thingy, but the key is the primary way.
The car before that, though, was push-start.

I don't like these newfangled thingamabobs, but then again... It's just new and different.
A Fiat Chrysler though?
I'm more of a Honda/Toyota kind of guy when it comes to cars, and Fords when it comes to trucks

My uni is angering me. I didn't attend the fall semester, so I had to send in a form to change term. That was about a week ago, and they said they were processing it. Enrollment has been open for over a week, and I still can't add classes as my term is still set to fall 2014. They need to hurry up so I can enroll before all the classes are gone.

You know, if I were needing to speak another language, I'd probably speak my mother's tongue and learn Spanish, might not be a bad idea eventually.
In the US that would be the best possible second language to learn, far more useful than the French which I was stuck with and have since forgotten nearly all of.
There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.
