Does 18 pages of a thread called "SPAM alert!" qualify as spam?
Reminds me of putting the empty Hefty bag box into the last Hefty bag.

Actually you might be right, since the Spammers have never hit this thread we are 'feeding' our own spam....
Maybe a candidate for /closed.

I dunno. I kinda like the idea of a town hall type setup for us to discuss SPAM related topics, including the awesome development of the ETHCAS & the U#!ETHDC mythos. Just because a thread fades in & out of relevance doesn't mean it's dead, & when/if the next SPAM attack comes, we'll all be here making clever remarks, posting pithy videos, sharing a few laughs & generally having a good time. I mean, just because the Soviets are no longer going to launch a barrage of nukes at us, does that mean we should dismantle NORAD & pull the plug on the EAS?

I like these off-to-the-side threads which are just a bit of fun.
It's like at some big official conference which is all very dry and important, and there's always a bunch of guys at the back talking about football, or bikes, or whatever.
Or at a big party, it's the gang in the kitchen who have the most fun (and are nearer to the beer and coffee)

Well, thanks for posting it here, damo, because it's gone now elsewhere in these forums.
Thanks to the cast of thousands who reported it -- because we can't be everywhere all the time, it helps us immensely when you do that. Keep up the great work.

I think that some of this quoting of SPAM is confusing the ETHCAS a bit - just jumped to SPAMCON 4 and not an actual SPAM post to be seen - unless there was and the mods deleted it in the last 45 seconds...

I deleted some earlier, but I think that was way before your post.
Edit- yup, it was before.

Not 45 seconds, but within the past three hours or so.
By the way, I might as well mention it here: Yes, quoting spam posts here is a bad idea. What we see as gibberish is actually search engine optimization (SEO) - text that makes it easier for other bots to find us by making us come up higher in search engine...well, searches. Basically, it takes Yahoo's (and the other search engines') crawlers and uses them to paint a target on us.

On many websites that use search engine optimization they use text that is the same or nearly the same color as the background.
So most people never see it to become aware of it.
There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.

Hmph. A spammer that attempts to appear like a real user by posting two hideously generic posts before advertising a Free PC Cleanup Tool bundle of malware (that is targeted at Windows users, no less) has just appeared.

And just gone by way of the "#! Ban-Bin-Bang" thanks to your report. Keep on reporting, please, we do appreciate it.
It's the "sleepers" that get us at times. Real people, log in and sometimes wait a day then hit is, sometimes, they don't wait like the spammer photonucleon just saw.

Don't you just love it when people (or, in this case, machines) just throw around random big words to try & sound smarter, only to wind up babbling like a complete buffoon
{moderator edit - see Unia's post below -s11}
On another note, is this type of SPAM becoming more common here?

^ OK, I'll stop.
Quick question, though. If the SPAM posts are deleted, then wouldn't it only draw people (via search engine) to this thread, & the actual #! forums &, just for the humor of its unintelligibility , are screenshots still OK?
