Just an update for anyone using the nct6775 driver. I just performed an update to the 3.13-1 kernel. /sys/devices/platform/nct6775.xxx no longer gets filled. Running 'sensors' still provided me with the same info as before. I did find everything in /sys/class/hwmon/.

Crosspost from the SPAM Alert topic:
Just did another test with the filter and pushed it back to 4% false-positives. I'm willing to launch with that, however a whitelist based on usernames might be an idea as well. Will try to work that out before putting the system online.
Edit1: About to start the debugging on the server. Expect a running version within hours.
Edit2: Beta version up and running on http://hubsec.eu:8145. For now, it is a global spam counter. Will add a daily reset option to it tomorrow. Please note that it's still beta, so if the system crashes overnight, I'll fix it when I've time.
So build your Conky around it

^Looks pretty cool. I've recently become aware of something that just didn't sit well with me in the ETHCAS, & I've modified it accordingly. The change is very minor & purely aesthetic, but it allows the look to remain more uniform across any variety of Conky setups. So without further ado, I hereby present the Emergency Tinfoil Hat Conky Alert System v2.2

@ boisei0 & #!_828
And they're off!
SPAMCON 3 by boisei0 takes an early lead and is deepening the distance as I speak!
#!_828 has yet to identify which SPAMCON he's riding but the Tin Foil Hat certainly looks impressive ...
... and into the first corner it's SPAMCON3 by 6 lengths ...
#!_828 keeps having to adjust his TFH! ... that's probably slowing him down ...
O:) O:) O:)
OK back to the conkys ... EXCELLENT work boisei0, #!_828 ... really really nice!

HEY I remember that ... just colour coded the UVI output for a sample
How it's grown ...
You should have YAWS in your signature. I had to StartPage it ... to find it.

'the nasa - image of the day' looks better now: http://postimg.org/image/811nbk2d7/
is it possible to display a colored border? this is sometimes very usesful. it looks a bit stupid when the nasa shows a dark photo while you have a dark wallpaper.
Offline
^ this is pretty easy, depending on how fancy you want your border of course,
just set a color, and draw a rectangle based on the image coordinates and size
if you want rounded corners then it takes a bit more calculation

Ok weird stuff happening with conky. I have a conky script using curl for weather. I have dark weather icons in my Documents folder which I have directed conky to use but for some reason conky keeps using a white icon even though I don't even have them installed.
I am totally confused, I have emptied my .cache folder of the weather icons, killed conky, restarted the pc and still the same icons, If someone could please help, his is my config, let me know if you need more.

^ can you post a screenshot of the white icons? Has anything changed since they were working properly that might coincide with the white icons?
What happens if you comment out the argb setting lines?

This is what happens when I # the ARGB:
And this is the original:
This is a brand new script, first time using it. I'm using Gnome Shell 3.10 by the way.
EDIT: This seems to be the issue I'm having http://sourceforge.net/p/conky/bugs/439/. Something about imlib2 images not showing up.
EDIT: If I change the ARGB settings to this:
own_window_argb_visual yes
own_window_argb_value 255
own_window_colour ffffff
I get this result:
I can't quite get the background to be 100% transparent.

http://en.zimagez.com/miniature/selection0040.png
I can't quite get the background to be 100% transparent.
Did you set "own_window_transparency" to no - or comment it out?
This 'should' give conky the 'true transparency' however the images don't work, defeating your purpose.
This is a conky problem that's been a known issue for a long time, composite managers and images ... check out what dk75 wrote about it.
own_window yes
own_window_type override
# own_window_argb_visual yes <--- no ARGB visuals
# own_window_argb_value 100 <--- no ARGB visuals
own_window_transparent yes
#own_window_colour black
own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager
own_window_class Conky
own_window_title ConkyTest
It's been a problem for XFCE users and the "built in" composite manager, and GNOME3 has adopted a built in composite manager (mutt) so picking up the same problems.
From what I've read there doesn't seem to be a way to turn compositor off in GNOME3. Mind you it was a quick search.
The BIG problem here is how GNOME3 now does backgrounds ... on the first layer as Krzysztof Duchnowski said in the first Discussion post in the link you gave.
The problem there is, you will get the black again as that is the "root window" - no wall paper.
OpenBox with compton has the same type of problem ... it washes out images but it can be turned off for specific 'window classes'. If you can't do that in GNOME3 I see a problem.
And according to wikipiedia that may be the problem GNOME Shell (italics are mine)
Reception
See also: Controversy over GNOME 3GNOME Shell has received mixed reviews: It has been criticized for a variety of reasons, mostly related to design decisions and reduced user control over the environment. For example, users in the free software community have raised concerns that the planned tight integration with Mutter will mean that users of GNOME Shell will not be able to switch to an alternative window manager without breaking their desktop. In particular, users might not be able to use Compiz with GNOME Shell while retaining access to the same types of features that older versions of GNOME allowed.[23]
Reviews have generally become more positive over time, with upcoming releases addressing many of the annoyances reported by users.[24] [25]
If I may make a few suggestions
keep that conky as a backup
make an exact copy to test with.
get another weather conky that uses 'fonts' instead of images running with true argb transparency to have a 'working' weather conky on your desktop as you test this fully. See Teo's scripts in my sig.
In a nutshell:
the washed out images are a composition manager problem within conky, mutt in GNOME3 in your case
the black background is a conky problem due to pusedo-transparency using the 'root' window

I was thinking about a post in the forum about how complete conky configs posted in this thread are so spread out
Perhaps I could start to archive them in a post, this post, and have the link somewhere to hand
Not sure how i feel about going through the thread, but new, complete setups I could grab and post the scrot and the post link
If anyone has a complete setup they have seen and know where to get it, let me know!
have to see how well i do LOL

or maybe start a new complete conky archive thread
have done so here
http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=33811
intention is this
"Keep all conky discussion to the main thread.
This is intended as an archive of links only"

One problem with that is "the post" would soon get to be so far back in the thread - new users wouldn't find it easily.
I though of a page at CPS once, but soon realized that that would quickly grow well beyond the usefulness of a single page, even thumbnails would slow down a connection if there were a lot of them on the page.
I remember once trying to 'bookmark' my conkys over at the Ubuntu forums - what a chore that was, and that wasn't making thumbs or anything, just bookmarked and just mine.
However, if you want to try, may I make a suggestion to go backwards from here .. get the most current and work to older conkys that 'may not' work as conky has been updated, new dependencies etc etc.
Get the links like boisei0 suggested here using the post method near the bottom.
If you want to start, I'll help. I'll start at page 200 here and work up ... putting everything in a text file something like this:
#4988 - kroey - modified default #! conky
#4995 - lwfitz - dual vertical conkys
and sending the text file to you every, lets say week, for inclusion in "the list" wherever it goes.
Also - do you include full conkys - but the poster was asking how to modify it ... like Satoru?
or maybe start a new complete conky archive thread
Been there, talked about that - I doubt you'll see that happen.
People will start asking questions about a specific conky and next thing you know, two support threads.
We had monthly threads ... they are buried in here someplace now BUT ... they are listed on Conky PitStop
did you know:
mrpeachy does supper stuff with Lua
I'll have my steak.lua rare please!

yes, that is the danger, I can repost any help posts in the main thread and try and keep discussion away in the archive thread
i have already started going backwards as you can see in the first post here

your help would be greatly appreciated!

is upset.
Don't get me wrong. I liked the two thread approach a lot:
My Conky Config - Archive
Conky Help - Archive
it's just that they both became support threads.
And as the last page of My Conky Config shows - I'm a guilty as anyone, and probably more so.
