Hi all,
I have been hopping here and there and now I am back in #! because it feels right os for me and for my samsung ultrabook.
There is just one thing I dont like. Even #! seems faster than Lubuntu, which is the second candidate, the fan usage in #! much more bigger than in Lubuntu. Dunno, from where this comes from, but I myself prefer quiet computer and fast os. Not like that fan usage is demonically big, but it is definetly bigger than in #!.
Anybody else noticed this?

I guess my fans are humming slightly louder than they were on windows, but it's not significant.
This topic and this Q/A thread both mention 2 packages that look like they might be helpful to those with fast-spinning fans.
Sorry about that. I accidentally posted my password in IRC and I had the same password set here so they changed my signature.

Could be the older kernel. What are your technical specs?

Hi Alex.Reiter! I've moved this to Help & Support (Stable) as there are some options for fan control (and/or making sure nothing is running too warm).

8 gigs of ram, Intel i5, operating system on ssd drive.
It is not fanning hellishly, but noticeably more, than in Lubuntu, for example.
