I've wanted to do a blue and grey theme for a while, finally found a nice wall for it on National Geo.

Re: January 2014 Screenshot Thread

@pdc

Download conkys from my Dropbox here

The gauges were meant to go against a dark background (December screenshots), but they work well with the planets in the wallpaper imo.

The main conky is combined code based on londonali's AirClock and conky_orange_4cpu from gnome-look
GPU gauge needs ${nvidia temp}; font is Dustismo

(If you haven't done this before -  change the lua_load and the ${image} paths to yours, as well as those in "#disks text" of course)

The rss conky is from colorpixels here

Crunchbang Waldorf upgraded to Debian Jessie/Sid. Wallpaper was the default background in Archbang 2010.09. An exciting release.

Re: January 2014 Screenshot Thread

Please, elaborate for a noob. tongue

I've downloaded the conky clock (Thanks for the link), but what theme is that one? How you got that transparency in the menu? I tampered with compton a bit, but tweaking the menu transparency made the text transparent too. Hard to read. Not good.

If you are talking about Elder's config, he uses Fluxbox, not Openbox.

Re: January 2014 Screenshot Thread

Hi all,

Since installing about a month ago, I have yet to find a single thing about #! that I don't love.  That thing definitely isn't the amazing community of helpful humans with beautiful desktops!

Here's my attempt:

Fresh boot:

With some stuff open:

Edit: fixed thumbnails. smile

@NeurOid

Psst..have a look at the guidelines for posting images, at the beginning of this thread. It is best to post a thumbnail and link to large images - bandwidth is an issue for lots of people wink

Thanks for the tip!  I saw the forum guidelines sticky thread for posting images but somehow missed that bit in the first post of this thread.  Oh well, it's fixed now. smile

Simplified for my situation...
2014_01_11_1389459426_2048x1152_scrot.png

2014_01_11_1389459628_2048x1152_scrot.png
-Upped the alpha on the lua: graph_fg_color and graph_bg_color
-Changed conky color 1 to #B0C4DE Light Steel Blue to show better on my wallpapers
-Removed GPU stuff
-Conky CPU temp wasn't working for me so changed the line to: ${exec sensors | grep ^temp1 | tail -n 1 |awk '{print $2}'} and added override_utf8_locale yes

Will add the 2nd feed conky later

Thanks again, damo.

Re: January 2014 Screenshot Thread

I've just started looking at tiling window managers, with the help of LinuxBBQ, and decided to try out spectrwm on my Waldorf install. After much config-file-tweaking, here it is:

xfce4-terminal has a GUI color picker in its preferences, so I don't need to mess with .Xresources. The palette is saved in a file named terminal rc, but the colors are saved as 12 digit hexadecimal codes, not 6 digit. Just copy/paste the following values into gcolor2 and hit enter and the 6 digit code will be displayed...

ColorBackground=#44db49454ccc
ColorForeground=#f8f8ffffffff
ColorPalette2=#502c76bf851e
ColorPalette10=#6a6a9d9db0b0
ColorPalette16=#6a6ab0b0869b
ColorPalette8=#502c851e655a
ColorPalette3=#502c5ac3851e
ColorPalette11=#6a6a7878b0b0
ColorPalette4=#851e502c7e50
ColorPalette12=#b0b06a6aa763
ColorPalette5=#851e502c5f4d
ColorPalette13=#b0b06a6a7ea3
ColorPalette7=#851e851e502c
ColorPalette15=#b0b0b0456a6a
ColorPalette6=#851e6253502c
ColorPalette14=#b0b082966a6a
ColorPalette9=#68966ea77333

-edit- ColorPalette1 is missing because I left the default, #000000. Also, you can see I don't organize them by "red/green/yellow/blue/magenta/cyan".

I am using my own theme and also native Fluxbox pseudo-transparency with Compton as well.  Be warned, the default Fluxbox theme may make you want to poke your eyes out. cool
