January 2014 Screenshot Thread

Incredible scrots, discussions and feedback all through 2013 by everyone involved.  cool  Starting the new thread a few minutes early (by GMT anyway), I hope nobody minds.

New year, fresh clean install.  Only significant changes I've made at this point:
Iceweasel backports release
older backported kernel (supports my wifi better)
removed Pulseaudio
dist-upgrade
Screenshot_12312013_06_28_14_PM.jpg
I haven't even reinstalled the CrunchBang-Faenza icons; I think I might be able to learn to like Philip's choice for a replacement set.  Like, but not love.

...oh, and I dropped screenfetch-dev in my ~/bin. 8o

Most image hosting sites will automatically generate this for you as well. Users have been using postimage.org lately which does a nice job.

Re: January 2014 Screenshot Thread

It's xfce4-terminal, but I think the tweak does not depend on the terminal you're using... just put these lines in your .bashrc:

export PS1="┌─[ \[\e[1;32m\]\w\[\e[0m\] ]\n└─$ "

By the way, you're screenshots are very cool, too! wink

Re: January 2014 Screenshot Thread

Had to take this last night as we were next for the big 10 second countdown, according to the conky that is:
2013_12_31_20_04_57_1920x1080_Sector11.jpg

and for the Jan 2014 thread ... this is me this morning ... nothing much changed:

Have a great 2014 everyone!!!

Spectacular conky, which ironically is missing the origin for GMT. Where's London??

OH OH! ... ummmm .... Oops!  :8

Fix in the making.

EDIT:  Now I 'recall' why London isn't there - clouds ... the world map is updated every 30 minutes to get the moving darkside of the earth.  die.net updates the "clouds" every couple of hours and until there are clear skies over England (preferably at night to see the lights) London will be ... in the fog!

I'll make a guesstimate and put it in despite the clouds. and see how it goes when clear.

GUESSTIMATE done ... just have to clean up the text stuff on the left.  Looks close enough:
2014_01_01_10_21_41_1920x1080_Sector11.jpg

The fact that last nights screenshot showed London as bright as a star helped fix it on a cloudy daytime shot!

@vosh
Since you using FreeBSD I want you to install any 10-* Version, cuz pkgng is much nicer then pkg_* tools.
