Re: Which are your favorite Firefox/Iceweasel addons?

Those people using advertising blocking addons, might want to consider using this instead:

http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

Specific link the the text file:

http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.txt

It's updated every month or so. It essentially blocks *every* advertisement system-wide, but also trackers, data miners etc.

Personally, on the topic of Firefox addons, I use various Youtube downloaders, Downloadthemall! and that's really it. Going back to bed now (4:15am), so will post specific addon details later.

While I like the idea of a HOSTS file, its rules are not as flexible as would be in any normal ad blocker. Furthermore it leaves white rectangles where the ads would be.

How does this affect Firefox's appearance versus not using it? Doesn't Firefox already uses the GTK theme and icons or am I missing something?

@anonymous, I was curious too, so I tried it. It themed the tabs to match your theme, for example if you're using Clearlooks then tabs have that stripe of color at the top.
