Meh, I thought you were the go-to guy for smaller laptops.
No, he's the go-to guy for ultra tiny netbooks.
I'm looking for something 11.6 - 13.3 inch myself. Currently leaning towards the Thinkpad Edge E130.
Looks good. It's got a clitoris too, which makes it a proper laptop.
Can't speak for Windows, but those specs should be able to run your favourite Aaargh Linux no problem. Btw, where I live, those Edge models come with a "Free-DOS" option, which saves you a bit of cash if you can live/work without Windows.

Sadly I don't have the FreeDOS option here, but I also need Windows for my programming classes later on this year (some graphics programming, not completely sure what it is yet) so it's not that much of an issue.
The only problem is that there is no shop nearby that has one on display - reviews are sparse for this exact model and I do want to see it in real life before ordering it.
EDIT: Staying on topic:

Lightening things up a bit on thagirion.
Here's an empty desktop:
And with a terminal. I still use Openbox to create a quasi-tiling desktop, which suits me because I just want to see one window at a time, and I want that window to take up most of the screen.
I have to move my new configs into git. I'll update this post when I do.

more bloat, but what bloat!
Comes with everything (nearly) that I need for GUI happiness! Skype/GIMP/Inkscape/Filezilla/WINE installed too.
Still fits, easily, onto a CD.

Debian Jessie with a zenburned i3wm and a lying screenfetch-dev. I don't have 2TB of hard disk space, I've got a 128GB Crucial M4. I don't use bash, I use zsh. I don't have Adwaita, I have Zenburn. And in general, I'm not quite satisfied with the way the system works now .. if it was not for systemd, I'd probably already have ditched Debian for Arch on my notebook.

@dot|not: Try CRUX, we got a lot of systemd refugees in the community (myself included).

I've finally found a lock screen that allows me to put a digital clock widget (lock screen widgets only came in Jelly Bean 4.2).
