[RESOLVED] Can't keep screen from blacking out

Heya folks,

I've got an issue with the install I've got in a virtual machine.  In spite of removing the xscreensaver from autostart and setting monitor powerdown to never in xfce power settings, I can't keep the screen from going black.  What else am I missing?

Several potential fixes have been offered here for this in the past, but the only one that has always worked for me was to have xscreensaver running, but set to "Disable Screen Saver".
