how to for update iceweasel on waldorf?
Offline
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install iceweasel
the code above will install/update iceweasel to the last stable version (that is actually version 20 on waldorf).
at this moment version 22 is available here:
iceweasel experimental
keep in mind it is "experimantal", so it could be buggy.

From http://mozilla.debian.net
You need to add the following entry in /etc/apt/sources.list or a new file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/:
deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ wheezy-backports iceweasel-beta
You can install it with the following commands:$ apt-get update
$ apt-get install -t wheezy-backports iceweasel[...]
The mozilla.debian.net archive is signed, so APT may complain until you add the archive key to your APT keyring.
You can do so by installing the pkg-mozilla-archive-keyring package. Once installed, you can check the key with the following command (requires the debian-keyring package to be installed):
$ gpg --check-sigs --fingerprint --keyring /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/pkg-mozilla-archive-keyring.gpg --keyring /usr/share/keyrings/debian-keyring.gpg pkg-mozilla-maintainers
pub 4096R/06C4AE2A 2010-11-20 [expires: 2012-11-14]
Key fingerprint = 85F0 6FBC 75E0 67C3 F305 C3C9 85A3 D265 06C4 AE2A
uid Debian Mozilla team APT archive <pkg-mozilla-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org>
sig!3 06C4AE2A 2010-11-20 Debian Mozilla team APT archive <pkg-mozilla-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org>
sig! 54FD2A58 2010-11-20 Mike Hommey <mh@glandium.org>1 signature not checked due to a missing key
The latter message about signature not being checked is expected, as the archive key is signed by two keys, but only one being in the Debian keyring at a given moment: 54FD2A58 is an old key that is going to be deprecated and replaced with A6AA8C72. You can thus also expect the last signature validation to differ depending on the Debian keyring version you use.
This will install the current beta (currently 23 and pretty stable.) If you want the release version you can change iceweasel-beta to iceweasel-release above.

I think it do not work because of dependencies to other packages. You can perhaps use apt-pinning for "iceweasel" from experimental. Please test first with a #!-live-system ;-)

you could do that adding the experimental repositories and updating your repo list, then install the .deb file and fix missing dependencies (if any) with:
sudo apt-get -f install
anyway you could find troubles.
I actually think, as annoyingbeggar suggested, the best way is just following the instructions here: http://mozilla.debian.net/

I did it by using synaptic:
Open up synaptic & install: pkg-mozilla-archive-keyring
Add this to yourr repos: deb http://mozilla.debian.net/ wheezy-backports iceweasel-release
Refresh
Locate iceweasel & click
From the menu, choose "force version" and v22 from the backports
Shake & stir

Folks do not force install Iceweasel, as per above. A reason I went through a tad a trouble posting all that babble. Did the same thing you tried Gebbeth ... Forced synaptic to install IW v. 22 ...
And follows the output of a "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade"
dpkg: warning: downgrading iceweasel from 22.0-1~bpo70+1 to 20.0-1
(Reading database ... 79075 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace iceweasel 22.0-1~bpo70+1 (using .../iceweasel_20.0-1_i386.deb) ...
Leaving 'diversion of /usr/bin/firefox to /usr/bin/firefox.real by iceweasel'
Unpacking replacement iceweasel ...
No worries either way, it's not that serious. Just pointing it out so you/other folks know.
Vll! 8)
Some common cbiz abbreviations. This will save me time and yet @ same time tell folks what the babble is supposed to mean.

I am running firefox now because this iceweasel thing has been getting on my little bird nerves for way too long. With almost every update of iceweasel, it's the same thing, as evidenced by the number of threads that come out.
Yes, if you set your preferences, sources and everything right it should be ok. It just requires you to read carefully and you should be fine. Or you can just switch to firefox, same stuff without the hassle. I am willing the lose some Richard-Stallmanness if I can avoid 15 minutes of fiddling with repos.
Man it's good to rant sometimes!
I love #! more than my own kids. I told them and they sympathized.
