If you also prefer the beautiful monochrome Faenza to those *ahem* Gnome Icons in Thunar ..
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install faenza-crunchbang-icon-theme
then select them with..
lxappearance
and there you have the beautiful #! waldorf look from last releases..

Thanks for the tip.
I've been applying updates regularly, but these icons were never removed for me. I wonder if this was only something that happened to a few folks who upgraded when the repos were a little bit borked? Good to know how to get them back in any case.
