Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

@sector11 I don't know why it helps, but some times it does, and it works the same as~ for me somedays. Right now to load a conky from in my projects folder it has to be typed in to terminal like so conky -c ./projects/name.conkyrc

"Green centre" is the clock in development.  I left the shadowed day numbers so the total number of days per month is visible.  Difference between 28 and 31.  wink

Bottom centre is the size difference - between The Chronograph size and The_S11_Clock size.  Also changed two font calls.
month | day names = CorporateMonoExtraBold
month numbers = Liquid Crystal
HR numbers = DS-Digital (the same)

Sector11 (or others),

How are you getting the background in the clock? When I attempt this I get a background in the entire conky.

This script draws a background to the Conky window. It covers the whole of the Conky window, but you can specify rounded corners, if you wish.

  the change is that if you set width and/or height to 0
  then it assumes the width and/or height of the conky window

so:

Above and After TEXT (requires a composite manager or it blinks!)

 lua_load ~/wea_conky/draw_bg.lua
 TEXT
 ${lua conky_draw_bg 10 0 0 0 0 0x000000 0.4}

OR Both above TEXT (no composite manager required - no blinking!)

 lua_load ~/wea_conky/draw_bg.lua
 lua_draw_hook_pre draw_bg 10 0 0 0 0 0x000000 0.5

${lua conky_draw_bg corner_radius x_position y_position width height color alpha}

covers the whole window and will change if you change the minimum_size setting

1 = 20             corner_radius
2 = 0             x_position
3 = 0             y_position

@hehe on your path to image, add a "." to the beginning. So it looks like ./path/to/image, I believe that should fix your problem.

edit: also if it doesn't fix it output from terminal should help us help you.

Why?  the "dot"  in front of a file or directory means "hidden"

./

means "current working directory" in the terminal and many programing languages.
It is a shortcut that keeps you from having to type out the full path to the directory you are in all the time.

Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

I tried to run 10d-v9000 from crono-9000 with no luck. The process runs with no errors  (at least none that I can tell). there is no visible Conky on the screen. Can anyone see what's going on that may fix the problem

Now we both know why.

Thanks arclance ... NTS: add this to the lil'txt file.

I tried to run 10d-v9000 from crono-9000 with no luck. The process runs with no errors  (at least none that I can tell). there is no visible Conky on the screen. Can anyone see what's going on that may fix the problem

Thanks

Can you post:

  • ~/chrono-9000/10d-v9000

  • ~/.v9000_config.lua

  • ~/v9000/v9000.lua, and

  • the template you are using in 10d-v9000.

In your conky you probably have something similar to this:

lua_load ~/v9000/v9000.lua
lua_draw_hook_pre weather
lua_load /media/5/Conky/LUA/crono_full_2.template.lua

I'm using the v9000.lua scripy with the crono_full_2.template.lua

Yours will be a different name - I need to see it.  With the other files as well please.

Problem Solved  for 10d-v9000.lua

Am I correct that

lua_load ~/v9000/v9000.lua
lua_draw_hook_pre weather
lua_load /media/5/Conky/LUA/crono_full_2.template.lua

this area is called the template?

lua_load ~/chrono-9000/scripts/v9000-10d-template.lua

/home/rusty/.v9000_config.lua
