Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

Hello all I'm trying to get this conky running that I found from http://arclance.deviantart.com/art/My-C … 291953425?.
My issue is it needs the libraries listed below, I can not find or they confuse me when I look them up in synaptic. Some have part of the name or not at all,if someone could point me in the right direction it would be most helpful.

cPickle or pickle
urllib2
httplib
json
datetime
textwrap
subprocess

thanks for any help on this.

Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

@ barkbombardier

That's my script so I can easily answer your question.

Everything but subprocess is in the base python2.7 package.
subprocess is in the python2.7-minimal package.

Since python2.7-minimal is a dependency of python2.7 you should get them all with this command

sudo apt-get install python2.7

I am curious as to where you are seeing the need for those packages though.  On the arclance deviantart page it states

They are listed in the full readme that is in the download.
The readme is 330 lines, too large to post on the deviantart page.

I am working on a new version of that script that uses lua to parse the script output instead of ${execp}.
I don't know when it will see a public release though because it need to write another big readme before I do that.

Sometimes - when there is nothing to do but wait - and one needs something to do or go nuts ... "I" make a conky!

Yea, with a light at the end.  I never caught that.  Thanks.

@Phantom309 - Beautiful!  Great color too.

@Sector11 - I'm still really enjoying your 24Hour clock.  I added a face on it, I hope you don't mind...

Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

I have mostly finished the lua script display for my weather script.

Daily Weather
conkyWeather_arclance_2012-08-01_resized_0.5_bicubic.png
Hourly Weather
conkyWeather_arclance_2012-08-01_hourly_resized_0.5_bicubic.png

You can find the current code for it in the thread I started for the script.

It still needs some configuration options added and a small change to the way button variables are stored before I write setup instructions for it.

@ lionhead
I think mrpeachy will be able to figure it out easier (and faster) than me since you are using his weather script.

If mrpeachy does not help you before I have more freetime later today I will look at it though.

Very cool conky S11!
I love how your conkys are so organized. smile

Shhhhhhhhh saw a conky over on the Pinguy OS site - it's their default conky - with a lot of changes mind you. It's a remake like mrpeachys remake.  big_smile

Another in the mill, based on something similar but with enough changes to be unique.

You're messing with tattoos?  That should be in the Tattoos-R-Us thread not the conky thread.  big_smile

Hmmmmmm if I messed with those tattoos I'd have a black eye from my brother, and a few missing body parts.
... arms, legs ... teeth!  big_smile

But, for me, that conky - yea I saw it - on second glance - deserves something like this for a backdrop:
