Re: [Solved]Can't change wallpaper?

How did you do to change wallpaper? Did you do: Right-click on your desktop>Settings>Choose Wallpaper ?

If you have a own image / wallpaper, make sure you put it in the /Home/Image/Wallpaper folder and then
Right-click on your desktop>Settings>Choose Wallpaper

Thanks.. It worked. Is there any command for showing desktop instantly? It was ctrl+D on Ubuntu.

It's Super-D in CrunchBang.  You may know the Super key as the Win key.  (That's "Win" as in FTW, not Windows. tongue)

Some sad people have even been known to modify their keyboards to get rid of the "w*n" symbol, so that super is now "#!" big_smile

Re: [Solved]Can't change wallpaper?

I am unable to change my background. I try to right-click  set as wallpaper. that does not work. I can't drag the file into the wallpaper folder. it just "bounces" back to the original location. I used to be able to. I can change from within the "default" one's in Nitrogen. I am stumped! any Ideas?

You can't right-click and choose "set as wallpaper". When you can't drag files to another map you need to open that folder / screen as root. Right-click on the wallpaper folder / screen and press "Open as root" Then you can drag your picture in that folder.  "Open as root" is the same as "Open as an admin" smile

Are you sure the destination you're dragging the images to is ~/images/wallpapers, and not ~/images/wallpapers/shared (which is a symlink to /usr/share/backgrounds and, as such, is owned by /, not ~)?

If the directory you're dragging *from* is on a ext2/3/4 partition, are you sure you have the right permissions wet for the directory and/or image file?

If the directory you're dragging from is on a FAT32/NTFS partition, maybe something's keeping it from mounting with full read/write permissions.  (I'd bet this is the case. wink)  Could you post your /etc/fstab?
