I am lost when it comes to golf, but I will say this about golf.
I respect a sport that takes strategy and calculation
as apposed to a sport that just calls for sheer brawn.!!.

all in good fun Sir!

This is precisely why I love the game...  It is all about me and the elements, not an opponent.  It is a great match with nature and the designer of each hole on the course...  Strategy is the 2nd most important item next to knowing your own swing and capabilities, especially in knowing what you cannot do...

^No idea what the "unpleasant issues" are, but I hope it's not too serious. Take care of yourself, Peachykins.

If you're feeling down, go rent/download Kung-Pow and watch VastOne go "Birdie... Birdie, birdie, birdie" while performing his insane Vast-Foo moves.

And in the meantime ... a re-re-remodified conky.

Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

I put a little script together for Radiotray (also in the Debian repos) and Conky if anyone is interested.

This is what it displays with my Gmail/Google Reader Conky

My fist though - GREAT - another music program I won't use ...
{sigh} OK lets try it!

HOLY HEADPHONES BATMAN!!!! WE HAVE MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now:

181·FM Classic Hits
Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4

Years ago, if I was in the house and awake I had a radio on.  Now that the computer is in the living room and so is the TV 'sound' has been turned off on the computer.  Cheapy speakers don't do justice to music anyway.  A while back I got a pair of Philips SBC HN110 headphones, not the best in the world but great for me.

Thank you VastOne!!!

So of course I had to try the conky .... and make changes.  'radiotray' is in my 'autostart' file, the conky as well.

Computer starts: aaq1WcIk.jpg

Start the Radio: aakDieNZ.jpg

Now:

It's awesome Bro, just awesome!  Grab it from the repos - start it - it just works.
That conky you did was was great ... but you know me - gotta tweak. I updated the original post to include the entire conky.

Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

Made a few changes to Radiotray conky - above TEXT:

Start of Color Settings:

### Color Settings #########################################################
draw_shades yes #### <<<--- yes --- To see it easier on light screens.
default_shade_color 7f7f7f
draw_outline yes #### <<<--- yes --- Amplifies text if yes
default_outline_color 000000

And turned off the LUA background

#lua_load ~/Conky/LUA/draw-bg.lua
#lua_draw_hook_pre draw_bg 10 0 0 0 0 0x000000 0.1

aabH2nap.jpg Something learned from TeoBigusGeekus on the Ubuntu Fourms.
It can be seen on just about all backgrounds.

That's cool how used conky to display Radiotray info.  I ocassionally use Radiotray and listen to local stations, or if I got bored, listen to music from other parts of the world.

Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

Would like someone to test a conky for me if you run 'vnstat'.  I installed my setup fresh in January so the bottom section only shows From Jan to April.

Would like people that installed before Jan 2012 or someone that has had their distro up and running for more that a year without a re-install, "updating" would work great.

For example if you installed in Dec 2011 'I'm hoping' you'll see

Dec '11

just above the final horizontal line - IF you have been running vnstat that long..

Re: Conky v1.9 Thread

Hi need some assistance in writing a startup script for a conky setup. It has to call a python script first then two conkys. I know how to start multiple conkys, but not a python script also...

I use python in my conky's this way, works perfectly as long as you have the scripts and paths correct and of course python installed.

${color #7D8C93}VastOne   - ${execpi 15 python ~/gmail_parser.py MYUSERNAME MYPASSWORD 3}

Now that I have woken up, I see that you are looking for a start script...

Here is one that calls a python and perl script that you can use as a template for learning

#!/bin/sh
sleep 20
/usr/bin/perl /home/vastone/gmusicbrowser/gmusicbrowser.pl &
sleep 10
/usr/bin/conky -c ~/.conkyrc -q -d &
sleep 10
/usr/bin/conky -c ~/.conkyrc2 -q -d &
#sleep 10
# gnome-terminal &
# sleep 10
# gnome-shell --replace
# /usr/bin/conky -c ~/conky-timedate6.conf -q -d &
 sleep 20
/usr/bin/python /home/vastone/conkyGmusicbrowser-GetCoverart.py -q -d &

OK, can I put chocolate chips in them?
I like your conkys... I tried making a one liner once, and it was missing this and that and became a 3 liner by the time I finished it.  roll

Mine are 'minimal' compared to what they used to be.  big_smile
