Looks like they're running a little behind...

I think I heard it was coming out tomorrow (Wednesday). I'll try and grab one. But, I'm not hopeful I'll get my order through in time.

pvsage, it runs Debian Squeeze and yeah, they are about six months behind...

Very interesting. Might have to try and pick one up. A few months ago, I was trying to figure out a way to make a super portable Linux box, but could never come up with a feasible way to do it without a commercially available motherboard. This looks like it might be exactly what I wanted. Thanks for posting this, @BoredOOMM!

I'm going to get one, only thing is they are supposed to sell out rather fast this first batch. I hope I can get one before back order!
This will be super beast to run just as the internet PC hooked up to my TV!
They are designed to be hooked to a TV to encourage kids with computer programming starting at an earlier age.
EDIT: Oh sweet! I just checked the site and since they've decided to go commercial partially, they'll have more than 10k units and should meet demands!

Hmm...trying to get to their distributors...RS Components site seems to be down, and Premier Farnell apparently only sells to Europe and Asia, with the New World tacitly omitted.

Also, they are initially selling the $35 model right now, which you'll want over the $25, as the $35 model B comes with an ethernet port and 2 USB ports.

I'm able to get to the RS site, however they seem to be getting SLAMMED with traffic right now so be patient. I didn't check the shipping, (it's in Euros) but they are supposed to ship to US.

How many people will buy one, just to have one / be cool and in the end let it lay around most of the time?

Come on, this isn't Wii.

I used to have a Wii and PS3. Now the PS3 has been sold (I only ever bought 2 games and used it as a BD player most of the time) but the Wii remains. Nothing beats Nintendo first-party games.
As for the Raspberry Pi, I'll hold off for a few months. If interest and (more importantly) support still exists then, I'll probably get one, install Arch or some other lightweight, and hook it up my TV.
I seriously hope they do well and really make a dent in the mainstream market, beyond the niche nerd/modder/hacker demographic.

Looking forward to getting one of these but hoping someone makes an enclosure for it as my creative skills are dire.

Haha. I will surely buy one and use it every day, simply because my netbook is currently hooked up to my TV, and my wife uses it as a daily machine for internet usage.
I really want to play around with it and program for school and work on my 46" !

I registed for it, their site was unreachable this morning.

I registered but couldn't figure out how to buy last night. I want to order it now!!!

Nope, I didn't get one.
On a side note, maybe we'll be better to wait. Lets not get a 1.0 board. Let them shake out the bugs first.
(who am I kidding, I would have ordered if I could have!)

maybe a good plan though. Although, it was in development for nearly a year and tested with so many distros, probably pretty well tested at this point. It surely wasn't rushed by any means.

I'm in for one as soon as I get another job!

My understanding is that the first batch of 10k sold out in the first minute or so. As hard as all the sites crashed, I'm surprised anyone was able to order one.
Now I am just waiting for the static site to go away so I can actually do some research and hop on their forum.

I saw that there will be an official enclosure soon, sometime after the dust settles from the launch fiasco. I also found a few user designed cases this afternoon.

If it takes off like it seemingly is going to, I would imagine all kinds of cool cases will be out within a few months.

They are having all sorts of trouble at the moment. Looks like none of us will be getting one for at least another 2 weaks.
They have reported a factory mistake with the jacks being non magnetic when they should be magnetic causing internet connection issues.
Offline
They're still having issues, keep getting e-mails from them about production issue and how it will be ready soon, but no date. Hadn't heard about that magnetic issue.
