Hey guys!
I've managed to get Debian running on my Archos tablet using this guide. Confidently, I upgraded to sid. Now, however, I don't get any ttys and I can't start X. It's looking for tty2, which apparently doesn't exist! Sure enough, there is no /dev/tty2. For that matter, there is only /dev/tty0!!
Any ideas?
Sincerely,
Chaanakya

aren't the tty's handled through /etc/inittab ? you might want to check out the contents of that file, plus the man-page for it, as i cannot help you with the syntax at all (don't understand it )

The tty devices come either from out of an initramfs or they are created by udev at startup ?

@rhowaldt: Unfortunately, the contents of that file are exactly the same as the ones on my #! setup, so it can't be that.
@xaos52: Maybe they come out of an initramfs - that would explain a discrepancy. udev should behave the same under both systems...

The funny thing is that all of those nodes exist under Stable....???? (I just checked as I wasn't sure). Maybe the Sid version of udev for armel has a bug????

Or is it [a]getty which creates the nodes?

I'm just trying to figure out which package it could be....does udev create the nodes or does getty?
Thanks in advance!
