[Solved]How to right click on a touchscreen?

Okay, so I installed Debian Squeeze on my Archos 70 Internet Tablet.  It works really well, but I can't figure out how to right click...is there any way to get multitouch in Debian??

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried multiple fingers?

Yup...it doesn't work...

[Edit] I converted to Sid, so I'm going to restart the tablet and see if anything changes lol big_smile

lspci for some reason doesn't work - returns that /proc/bus/pci doesn't exist or something like that..

If it helps, I used this guide to set up the Debian boot.

Re: [Solved]How to right click on a touchscreen?

I have a completely different touchscreen, so this may not help, but for mine, touching the screen and holding your finger down for a few seconds will emulate a right click. Alternatively, perhaps a command key (alt or control?) with the touch?

Re: [Solved]How to right click on a touchscreen?

I tried touching and holding.  Either that doesn't work or the touchscreen is too sensitive tongue  Since there is no physical keyboard, I haven't tried holding down Alt or Control, but I will try that (there is an onscreen keyboard with control, shift, alt, Function, etc.)

Re: [Solved]How to right click on a touchscreen?

I think I might be able to solve it by assigning a keyboard shortcut to

xdotool click 3

.

Re: [Solved]How to right click on a touchscreen?

This is now solved!  For future reference:

I created a script with the following code:

#!/bin/bash
sleep 2;
xdotool click 3

The sleep 2 is because I only have a virtual keyboard on this device and I need to therefore move the mouse pointer to the button (which kind of defeats the purpose tongue)

I then bound that script to a keybinding (F12 in my case).  I can now right click on my tablet big_smile big_smile

Marking thread solved!

Re: [Solved]How to right click on a touchscreen?

^ depends on how you execute the script. you can navigate to the directory it is in, then do './SCRIPTNAME' or 'bash SCRIPTNAME'. you can also move it to a directory which is in your path. do 'echo $PATH' to see these directories. if it is in such a directory you should be able to execute it by simply typing in the script name.
