Do I use Openbox, XFCE or ????
Currently XFCE has Compiz config and no windows titlebar. I for the life of me cannot remember where to solve this in CCSM.
I am open to other suggestions.
Thanks!

What's your question? Which WM should you use?
Your autotranslate is better than my spellchecker. <blushing>
I am a longtime (7 years or more) Ubuntu Refugee not happy at all with Cell Phone interface for the desktop. I have enjoyed stability of Debian with Linux Mint Debian I am using. I am interested now in developing another WM prior to installing #! on my laptop - HP G60
Is purge XFCE and work only with OB the way to go?

You know what I did? apt-cache search window manager and then I installed 10 different ones and tried them (log out, pick Change Session in gdm). from A like awesome to X like xmonad. Always read the man page of the WM before using it, so you know how to open a terminal and quit etc.

Yes, and copy config for use on laptop was the plan.
LOL Ten different ways to crash the system.......
Any solutions to loss of Titlebars would be a helpful start.

That's XML, so that's Openbox right?
Yes, and the error is in XFCE

Ok, so I think you have 2 questions:
How do you fix an XFCE problem?
Can you keep XFCE if you change your Mint sources to #!?
Is that right?

Install compizconfig-settings-manager if not already installed. Run it and in the Effects section there should be something about Window Decorations.

machinebacon, the 10 thousand times I typed that and could not remember. (Ok, maybe not 10000)
I did install Statler on the G60 last night and now need some basic direction on howto-
- Force numlock "on"
-Keyboard shortcut for volume control.

numlock issue: apt-get install numlockx
volume control: do you want to use MediaKeys in openbox? http://crunchbanglinux.org/wiki/configuring_keybindings

You need to search in ccsm, find Window titles (decorations or something), and change the value with gtk-window-decorator, then log out and back in.
