Hello all,
As like another good threads about music and Anime (very useful to meet something different) I suggest we start one about our preferred Movies and/or TV Series, whatever you like, video-based. I think this is a good place to hangout and know new stuff. So if a Moderator doesn't like the idea, no hard feelings
Of course, "best one" is hard to choose, so... Feel free to create a list
As first, I'll start!
Best Movie: Godfather - Trilogy
Best TV Series: IT Crowd - UK Series, about two Geeks that work in the IT Dep. of a big company.
Cheers and waiting for your say!

Hard to find 'the best'...
Best Movie: Memento
Best TV Series: Columbo (the older the better) / The Odd Couple (1970s sitcom)

Favorite bad movie: Titan A.E.
Favorite successful TV series: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (didn't care much for the title character, but Willow...)
Favorite unsuccessful TV series: Space: Above and Beyond

@sunfizz98, changed
A list, like Manga' and Anime' would be better than ellecting one, of course.

Hard to pick absolute bests. I'll narrow mine down to "Best from the last 10 years", cos I'm sure I've seen many more that I can't seem to recall right now. >_<
Movie: tie between Das Leben der Anderen & Eureka
TV Series/Sitcom: My Life in Film (was canceled after only 6eps, but I thought it was brilliant)

Best Movie: Godfather
I love Godfather but only the first two, the third, I had to abrupt, found it really boring and somehow too modern.

Yes, 1954/1957 and 1997. Latter left me unimpressed. See Duerrenmatt's "The Pledge" and its remake - I prefer the original versions.

To fill the list with some other films I really like/love, do not forget I am a movie junkie:
The Departed
Fight Club
Festen (The Celebration) of Thomas Vinterberg (Denmark)
Lost Highway
Underground of Emir Kusturica (Serbia)
Next time more

- A Simple Plan: "Two brothers along with a buddy find a downed single-engine plane buried in the snowy woods. Inside it is a decaying pilot and a bag carrying four million dollars in one-hundred-dollar bills. The men decide to hide the money until spring when the snow is melted and the plane is found. If no one notices the missing money at that time, they will split it and live a wealthy new life. A simple plan, right? Wrong."

That was now a challenge.
Here I go:
+1 for A Clockwork Orange
+1 for 2001: A Space Odyssey
I love Kubrick in general
Inglourious Basterds
About Elly (Darbareye Elly) from Ashgar Farhadi (Iran)
Okuribito (Departures) from Yojiro Takita (Japan)
... to be continued
I have just to look at my DVD collection and put the best from my list.

You say Clockwork, I say The Shining
Some cheesy old-school Scifi: Fantastic Voyage and Flash Gordon
"What have they done to us"-documentaries: Food Inc. and Super-size Me

@machinebacon
The Shining, not bad but not one of the best of Kubrick.
Flash Gordon, I think the music is better than the film, was it Queen?
Super-size Me, was interesting, but very American style, no offense to our Americans.
We go on:
Armin of Ognjen Sviličić (Croatia)
Eastern Promises of David Cronenberg, a very interesting Canadian director, The Fly is also from him
Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul of Fatih Akin, this German-Turkish director is also very good, this one is a documentary about music in Istanbul, all styles, the soundtrack is fantastic!
Revolver, I love it even though others do not understand this peace of Guy Ritchie
Život je Čudo (La Vie est un miracle) another of Emir Kusturica (Serbia), he is crazy, I saw a concert with him and his band The No Smoking Orchestra

Oh, I see the thread title changed to a general "Fave Movies" thread.

+1
Favourite films (random order):
Moon
Memento

Top Gear
Agree. Caught Moon on DVD a few months ago and it was very, very impressive. Memento is without doubt a classic, for sure.
Top Gear is great comedy, Some of their "Specials" like the Vietnam and Bolivia ones were hilarious. Just make sure you don't take their actual car reviews seriously.
