But most people think I'm younger.
Sports, no stress, no animal food, such things, you know.  ;-)
And I'm still a paper boy. And plan to be one as long as possible.

It's a LOT of paper, believe me.  big_smile
I guess if I lived in a big city I'd be a bike messenger, but in my little home city there's no such thing, of course. But most people work in tourism here - and so do I: I'm bringing the whole run of a free tourists magazine into every hotel, store, restaurant, ... 30 km along the costline. On a singlespeed bicycle. This month, e.g., more than 2 tons, ca. 40 of such cartloads of more than a centner.

Re: How old are you? Where are you from?

^ yikes  I once rode 70 miles round trip (in a single day) just to see a house concert; it was the first time my favorite singer/songwriter had played anywhere near where I live, and there was no way I was going to miss it.  But 2 tons of a free tourist rag every month?  That's hard core.

I'm 41 and still get carded sometimes.  Given my life of debauchery, I really can't explain it...must be a picture of me hidden away somewhere that ages in my stead...

At 42, my once black beard has gone all salt-and-pepper. One of my co-workers asked if I ever thought of dying it back (she who puts in streaks of red, blue, or green in her hair on a monthly basis). I answered back, more strongly than intended, that I had earned every damn one of those gray whiskers! I also let her know that "chicks dig scars." big_smile

Re: How old are you? Where are you from?

^ LOLz!

I guess the gray in my hair comes off as "highlights" - when red hair goes gray, it's actually a yellowish shade...just one of many ways ginger hair is different.  Also reacts differently to "product" than brown or black hair, which apparently many hairdressers don't get.

I vaguely remember hair ... and it was jet black ... today I need a hat to protect from sunburn!

hair.JPG I remember salt-n-pepper, and then more salt than pepper, and now all salt!

Well, what's left is salt with a dash of pepper here and there.

Don't worry about the colour, age takes care of that, don't even worry about the lack of it, age does that too.  Just be glad you're around to remember the transitions through the various stages.

For example:

I remember Grecian Formula for men when it first came out. One of the older guys at work started using it and it was SO obvious it was silly.  He, on the other hand, thought it was great - until the Christmas party - when his hair glowed purple under a black light over the dance floor.

The following Monday he shows up at work with a haircut ... about an 1/8th of an inch long. lol

My Lesson from this:

I'll keep mine in whatever manner mother nature deems I should have it thank you!

Re: How old are you? Where are you from?

For a long while I was a fan of bleaching my hair platinum white, and I don't have any grey (yet!), I'm nearly 30.

I also like coloured hair, and some folks I met find it strange, while (for some) I saw their layered make-up likened to a cupcake decorated by a five year old lol

I've since moved to changing the colour of my terminal.

Future grandpa me will probably rock out with bright red mohawks. Why not?

I remember Tammy Faye and Mimi Bobeck...

Right now I'm trying to let my hair grow in while working on something of an Uryu Ishida style, but because of my hair texture, it's coming out more like Motoko.  I guess if I ever go to a cosplay con people will be suggesting purple Manic Panic gel... roll

Maybe we should start a hair thread...
