Xfce4.8 and conky transparency problem

I tried out upgrading to Xfce 4.8 via the apt-pinning methods outlined by Omns and Hadran, and now my conky is no longer completely transparent, only partially so. I tried changing 'own_window_type' from 'desktop' to 'override' per an earlier post on the problem, and it doesn't fix the issue. Conky is latest version (same in all repos) and using stock #! .conkyrc with keyboard shortcuts commented out. Any ideas??

Be excellent to each other!
