Just a little info:
for me generally booting from an 8GB USB on 2 different PCs always works when using Mandriva Seed as USB creator. My spare 1GB stick works with every other method (unetbootin, LiLo, dd, Pendrive USB)

Confronting a Crunchbang user with Archbang is irritating. Even if the name suggests, Archbang seems to reject both palettes of principles of Arch Linux and Crunchbang.
I haven't thought about the 32/64bit problem. Should be the first thing to come into one's mind oO
