Re: Archey coming to Crunchbang

Yeah, the ascii logos are cool, although as has already been commented (at UF), wonder what he'll do with Suse and Xubuntu logos yikes

Re: Archey coming to Crunchbang

Hmm. I didn't see that thread before. Thanks for the link.

It hasn' t been posted in since 2009-09-10 so maybe DJ Melik sharing his original Arch script in Debian form will rejuvenate it.

Re: Archey coming to Crunchbang

Nice!! big_smile
I've seen Melik's screenshots over at the Ubuntu and Arch forums, and some of them are pretty sweet.

Glad he decided to make a banger friendly version.

Just tried it out and it looks good. The #! logo is simple, but clear.
Overall, great job. Please pass on the good word to Melik, richs-lxh smile

One weird thing, I'm on Statler OB, but Archey lists my 'Desktop Environment' as Xfce. It still shows Openbox under 'Window Manager' though. Maybe the Xfce thing has something to do with Thunar being included in statler? O_o

I'll take a look at the script's contents and see if I can figure something out later. If not, I guess I could just delete the 'Desktop Environment' related line.

Cheers.

Re: Archey coming to Crunchbang

I don't know if you are a member of Arch or Ubu forums, but I posted a link to the thread in case you want to thank him yourself.
All I did was ask if it (CB version) was possible, but he already had plans for other distros any way.

I have a lot of respect for devs/scripters who take the time to offer their work to other distros as well. It's the true FOSS spirit.

Re: Archey coming to Crunchbang

Hey there. Just saw this thread. I'm the creator of screenFetch, and you don't need subversion to get it. wink The subversion isn't updated at all currently. You do, however, need git because that's how I keep make new releases and versions.

git clone git://git.silverirc.com/screenfetch-dev.git

That'll clone the repository and the screenfetch-dev executable file is all you need to run it. I've been meaning to make a .deb for screenfetch, but I know nothing about debian packaging standards. It's on my todo list to learn them. big_smile
