Re: [Solved] Change Mouse Cursor (OpenBox )

Try this: go to /usr/share/icons and create a folder named "default" if it doesn't already exist. Then inside the default folder create a file named "index.theme" and inside the file put this text:

[icon theme]
Inherits=Constantine

Re: [Solved] Change Mouse Cursor (OpenBox )

You may need to move the cursor theme folder to usr/share/icons as well. This will change the cursor theme globally though. All users will have the new cursor theme.

Re: [Solved] Change Mouse Cursor (OpenBox )

Yup, found a simpler way:

just add

export XCURSOR_THEME="DMZ-white"

to your ~/.config/openbox/autostart.sh

How cool is that ? cool

Not exactly off topic but a comment on the side: I really like how you not only marked your topic solved but put the solution in the first post.  This must save someone a bit of time from looking for the solution elsewhere in the thread.  Very thoughtful on your part.  wink

Re: [Solved] Change Mouse Cursor (OpenBox )

Apparently it does -- the theme I chose was too similar to the default to initially tell, however when clicking links, etc., the hand icon and the arrow icon had a throbber icon attached which the default doesn't.

Re: [Solved] Change Mouse Cursor (OpenBox )

Knowing that the new lxappearance can change cursor themes, someone want to test if putting this into your .gtkrc-2.0 works:

gtk-cursor-theme-name="Vanilla-DMZ"
