Re: What are you listening to right now ?

I'm looking for some long (instrumental) acoustic pieces. Melody is key. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I bought a Seagull S6 Original with electronics. Awesome guitar, but I'm afraid I can't play. If I ever do get any good, that's also the kind of stuff I'm going to want to play. I definitely can't sing.

Here's an awesome acoustic Baba O'Riley (played on an S6)

@jdonaghy:  https://soundcloud.com/groups/instrumen … tic-guitar
Most of those are rather short, radio-friendly song lengths, but "Another Nocturne" seems a good place for you to start.

EDIT to add:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPBpT53Bjg4 about an hour and a half of acoustic instrumental guitar.

Can't remember if I posted these before.  If you like em, then check out CANdyRAT Records. Not exactly long, though.

@jdonaghy:  You should also check out Michael Hedges.  In fact, everyone who likes acoustic guitar should check out Michael Hedges.

Re: What are you listening to right now ?

the japanese artist NNNNNNNNNN at the blip festival 2012.
This artist makes dance and dubstep style music with gameboys.

It is an audio visual subculture like any other, some people realy enjoy making music
with obsolete technology like plain old 8 bit gameboys or nintendos and they have
an audience.

Covox at the blip festival 2012 ;
he tries to show how capable lofi technology still is by by making it sound modern.

throw "john butler trio ocean" into the YouTubes.
Andy McKee is also very good at the ol' acoustic guitar.
Candyrat records is also worth a look. it's mostly melodic Instrumentals. Not your beginner jams, but something to be inspired by. Tommy Emanuel is another heavy hitter in the instrumental acoustic scene.

That song is one of my all time favorites.

Currently listening to Idiot Wind - Bob Dylan

Somehow, I seem to have lost my Blood on the Tracks album. Why that one? sad
