What do the #! users want for Christmas?

The topic subject says it all ...  so what are you guys & gals secretly wishing for?

Anyone who answers "World Peace" has to display a picture of themselves in a swimsuit & Miss World sash displaying the country they are representing lol

Re: What do the #! users want for Christmas?

^ Only audio player I liked on Windows was the one that "whips the llama's ass".  Fast & light Winamp 2.8.something.  MPD is light, but non-fluences on my Mini; MoC is a bit heavier, but runs very well.  I guess I'm happy with MoC.

Re: What do the #! users want for Christmas?

Currently I have used the Moc and MPlayer, but nothing compares to Foobar when it comes to organization of MP3. Everything is simple, light, fast and practical and has not found any substitute for it in Linux.

Audacious is just like old winamp, I love it for just music playback.

Re: What do the #! users want for Christmas?

I tried Audacious when I was using Dellbuntu; don't know why, but it sounded very not right.  Lots of hiss & trebly distortion, like a Dolby C tape played on a standard cassette deck.  I couldn't get it to play at all on #!.  Maybe it plays better with a different sound card.

Re: What do the #! users want for Christmas?

I guess I'm cheating. I use audacious into a usb sound card, so it always sounds good to my ears. You could alway ask for an Edirol UA-1EX for Christmas. It works great in linux, is relatively small and provides great sound quality.

And to all a Metalocaplypse night. Awesome avatar by the way, smile

Re: What do the #! users want for Christmas?

Nice thread....

Well, I usually do some charity-type thing during the Christmas season, so not being broke after it's done would be nice for a start.

I need a new kart chassis as well.... and my Triumph needs new rear tyres.

But what I really wish for is to sleep through Christmas..... not because I'm a spoilsport, but because I suffer from severe chronic insomnia (not the type all the kids think it's cool to have, btw... I was actually diagnosed).... so sleep would be a huge gift/blessing from my point of view.

+1 for CrunchBang 9.10, like everyone else.

...and I truly wish for World Peace... who wouldn't?

Yes bobobex, I'll pay....
ganindrag.th.jpg

Cheers. tongue

Edit:
Perfect audio player sounds good as well, but I'm rather demanding in that I still would rather buy CD's and listen to them through overpriced headphones + amps ..... I'd perhaps go on a search for the best portable MP3 player I can find (that's not made by Apple or Creative) and import my ripped/downloaded material to it.
