dmz-cursor-theme is missing from default install

Both ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini and ~/.gtkrc-2.0 contain DMZ-White as the default cursor theme, but the dmz-cursor-theme package isn't installed by default. I consider it a bug (I hope it's a bug, because I prefer the white cursors on gray background). smile

Not a bug, we left that cursor theme out to save a tiny bit of space. To install it...

sudo apt-get install dmz-cursor-theme

I'll ask johnraff whether we care about the entries in those files.

Re: dmz-cursor-theme is missing from default install

I consider white cursors as an essential design element of CrunchBang, and I don't think saving a tiny bit of space is a good reason for dropping it completely. Maybe it looks for you just an another bike-shed effect example, but for me is very meaningful to know the true reasons behind the decisions, and I like to see that consequences are handled well. And sorry about the heckling too, I have a picture about BunsenLabs in my mind of being a spiritual successor of CrunchBang, please tell me, if I am on a wrong way. smile

Black cursors on dark gray background could be hardly a good default config. Or did I miss something? wink

You may be right, and you have made your point, so let's move on, OK?

Re: dmz-cursor-theme is missing from default install

You missed the thick white border. Did you install your preferred cursor theme? Good, issue resolved.

You were right to bring this up. We shouldn't be specifying something by default that isn't available.

If enough people seem to prefer dmz-cursor-theme we might think about putting it back on the default iso, no hhh?

Otherwise we should change the config files to point to Adwaita.

Thanks for catching it!

I'm fine with including it and setting it as the default cursor, whether or not there is a demand, especially if it was default for #!.

Ah, good point! That's settled then. smile

(We could still leave it off the future CD iso, where space will be very tight.)

You're welcome! smile

It's my failure not to write expressis verbis, that the white theme was the default in CrunchBang.
