works on my sytem.
you don't use root with make, so it's just
and you don't have to install it - you can simply copy the resulting gkrellsun.so to ~/.gkrellm2/plugins/.
but, i think on debian you have to install development versions of packages.
this is a problem you will always run into when trying to compile sth.
so if, for example, it complains that
"No package 'gtk+-2.0' found"
then you have to install sth that contains "gtk", "2", and "dev" in its name. usually you can find it with synaptic packet managers advanced search function.
are you sure there isn't a package for gkrellsun already?

Thanks @ohnonot, sorry i couldn't get back to you sooner, i got sidetracked into upgrading to sid and botched it up royally. It's a wonder that i can still boot into this messed up system (I can't even update because i have no /boot/initramfs..never mind, i am a clueless idiot. Had the good sense to make a backup with fsarchiver before and will have to restore it again, and go through the trouble of editing the /etc/fstab and reinstalling grub-efi, that comes with it.
This gkrellsun issue seems quite trivial to me now and yes, it doesn't come with the repos like gkrellmoon which seems sttrange. I guess Debian developers are night people. :lol
