is syslinux boot partition standalone

hi all

sdb2 is my boot partition with syslinux as bootloader

it was installed when i put arch
sdb3 arch /
sdb4 arch /home

all my other distro's (sdb5 - 14) are also booted from sdb2
no problems
i just keep adding to syslinux.cfg

if i replace sdb3 & 4 with something (oh, i dunno, Bunsen maybe tongue)
will i lose syslinux too or will it stay and keep on a-bootin'

cheers

Re: is syslinux boot partition standalone

thanks hoas

just so i'm clear

ldlinux.sys & ldlinux.c32 are distro specific?
( i mean do they belong to the arch install that put them there)

beacause i will still have them in /boot/syslinux(sdb2)
along with /boot/syslinux/syslinux.cfg

i only want to replace sdb3 with (bunsen /) and sdb4 (bunsen /home)
then create an entry in syslinux.cfg for it

i am going to leave /boot partition alone (sdb2)

cheers
