@Head_on_a_Stick
That package did not do it either, and the output of that command was nothing.

Re: No Bluetooth or Wifi (GB-BXBT-1900)

Does the wi-fi work in a live version of a different distribution?

PCLinuxOS is probably the best in terms of compatibility.

Just tried that, says unable to mount livecd,
then it drops me into a cli.

I'd just like to state once again my system is a gigabyte brix j1900, I had to install the ram and sdd myself but that shouldn't be important for this.

The wireless module is made by azurewave

Maybe if I could show you the messages it shows during bootup? Perhaps there's other errors I'm not seeing aside from the pnpbios and acpi errors. Would that help?

Yes, maybe.

I don't hold out much hope if PCLinuxOS doesn't support your hardware though, you may be stuck with the Redmond product...

Re: No Bluetooth or Wifi (GB-BXBT-1900)

Aside from me spazzing out to take a perfect picture just in time of the bootup messages, how can I get ahold of them? Isn't there a log file of some sort somewhere?

And redmond product ?

I'm perfectly ok with not getting this joke. lol

And jeez this log isn't exactly what I had in mind, maybe it'll have some helpful info, but what I was thinking was something that will capture the bit where the pnpbios message is posted, this does not.

Re: No Bluetooth or Wifi (GB-BXBT-1900)

Try this (you may need to use a pastebin):

dmesg

Or maybe:

sudo gpasswd -a <user name> systemd-journal
sudo newgrp systemd-journal
journalctl -b

Re: No Bluetooth or Wifi (GB-BXBT-1900)

dmesg output
http://pastebin.com/9Ez5AU4V

And of those commands, the first one gave

gpasswd: group 'systemd-journal' does not exist in /etc/group

Re: No Bluetooth or Wifi (GB-BXBT-1900)

UPDATE: Just tried an ubuntu live session (vivid vervet), and a few of my errors went away:
Shutdown was smooth, Wi-Fi worked, and something I didn't mention was the audio quality was better (usually output is choppy and a little staticy)

However still no bluetooth.
Since ubuntu is debian based I'm thinking if there's a way I can keep all my #! goodness whilst updating everything to the latest stable package releases debian has, overtime if not right away, all this stuff will fix itself.
I'm going to try this,
http://crunchbang.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=39615
Looks like you've been there and approve of it, @Head_on_a_Stick, so I trust it wink

I will report back once done

I am able to offer support for the above method.

I cannot offer support if you follow the method linked in your post.

If you need to post any support-related queries, be sure to mention which method was followed to avoid wasting everybody's time.

It should be noted that BunsenLabs is at the "sub-alpha" stage and should not be used for anything important or "mission-critical".

Re: Ubuntu live session:

I would like to see the output of:

lspci -knn|grep -iA2 net

From the Ubuntu live environment.

Also, if a recent Ubuntu release works better on your hardware, you should try Debian jessie as that may also work (and it will be free of pre-installed malware):
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unoff … -firmware/

I recommend the LXDE desktop for older hardware or GNOME for newer devices.

Re: No Bluetooth or Wifi (GB-BXBT-1900)

So I upgraded to Jessie and nothing changed sad
At least system didn't bork.

Seriously if anyone has any feedback let me know,
the selling point for this system to was that it's portable and I could run it with only a video and power cord.
With no Bluetooth or WiFi it's two more cords to the mess.

EDIT: I upgraded by changing the sources list from wheezy to jessie, then apt-get update, dist-upgrade, then upgrade.
