when trying to install compton from an upgrade to jessie from Crunchbang I get this error
dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/compton_0.1~beta2-1_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/share/man/man1/compton.1.gz', which is also in package compton-git 20121102-2
I have no idea why. I tired removing the '/usr/share/man/man1/compton.1.gz -- it still gives me that error when trying to install the deb, all of the other dependenices have been installed.
I even installed compton from the git repos https://github.com/chjj/compton ..
but still no matter what I do when I try yo install compton with apt-get that is the error I get -- how to fix?
any ideas as too why google comes up blank --

that was the orginal problem -- compton git was blocking it from installing. it was just the way the message presented itself I could not figure out that the package was called compton-git as I told apt-get to remove compton then it'd tell me its not installed -- so I'd try to install it then get that error and well I leanred something to day I did.
