May 2015 Screenshot Thread

Thanks to those who posted in last month's thread, some lovely screenshots and good discussion!

As always for May and any other place one uses images...

Please use thumbnails

- To help those of us with slow connections and the CrunchBang server bandwidth.  Most image hosting sites will automatically generate thumbnail codes for you.

Of course use whatever service you wish, but please, get a thumbnail and use that or it will be changed by a moderator.

Avoid the large thumbnail www.imgur.com code, use the "medium" link thumbnail.  An example of the code:

[url=http://imgur.com/your_image_code][img]http://i.imgur.com/your_image_codem.jpg[/img][/url]

Notice the m in your_image_codem.jpg in the IMG code block

Users have been using www.postimage.org lately which does a nice job and is Multi-lingual as well.  Upload your image to the site and grab the Thumbnail for Forums (1) code.

Here is a generic piece of code if you need to create your own thumbnail:

[url=http://link.to.your.fullsized.image][img]http://link.to.your.thumbnail.image[/img][/url]

Please use the Report button to let moderators know of images that are too large. Thank you!

Let this month's desktop art commence...

EDIT:  @ hhh thank you for starting May ..., I have updated the text part of the post to fix a broken link.

The broken link is too cute to miss: http://imgur.com/your_image_code - watch the eyes!!

hhh: Terminal font, please?
Did you just transset the whole file browser window or is there transparency inside GTK theme?

Re: May 2015 Screenshot Thread

@Nili, thanks!

@nore, terminal font is OCRA...
http://sourceforge.jp/projects/tsukurim … r-0.2.zip/
https://myfonts.wordpress.com/2006/09/1 … ies-1-ocr/

lxpanel and xfce4-terminal have their own transparency settings, for inactive xfwm4 window transparencies I'm using compton (see man compton)...

compton -cC -r 8 -o 0.4 -l -12 -t -10 -i 0.7 -e 1.0 &

Sorry for spaming another scrot so fast but i was trying it for a few minutes without tint2. I had little difficult managing myself without toolbar so i turned on again. Maybe today i wasn't good mood roll I will try another day longer or perhaps removing completely.

Using the htop setup and selecting the monochromatic color scheme is the only way I know of to do that.

edit - nili beat me to it.

Must be

htop -C

since i have alias

alias htop='htop -C'

Still don't approve of a systray in DWM though...

Any tech reasons or just politically incorrect?

Re: May 2015 Screenshot Thread

various images set in various positions using the options and automatically changes randomly by set time limit and the user specified size of image to show no matter what the actual size of the image really is -- via mhsetroot (real low on resources). The Images all depends on whats is in the image directory it feeds off of - colors change randomly as well - standard Issue tint2 with 5 desktops not 4 -- things moved around and launchers added to panel. Conky custom files to show what I want -- where I want them on DT.

                                   That's it smooth and clean -- with something new to look at every so often

BG Image by @ututo

that's a nice looking theme Image -- in my option it looks nice like that but too for a little bit of splash for them that may want it - put a little flame red color in the flame or in just the words BunsenLabs to off set it so it sticks out more that might look cool too  or have that bled from flaming red into the darker gray left to right with the wording and with maybe just a little big into the flame itself too so it sticks out more to the eyes -- kind of burns it into ones memory wink or do that with the red flaming look and have a black outline to the letters or just leave it like that and change it so it has some red in them flames -- never seen a black fame before but hey I have not been everywhere just saying lol  -- same font and size -- just my 2 cents worth --
@ututo  via damo  smile -- ya'll  be still looking for options on what the consumer wants right?  cool nice job on it though I must say
