so now that cb is dead what will i use now

There are many crunchbang-like distros out there (archbang and viperr are two I know of, but there surely are more), and, for the looks of it, many more on their way.
When a formula works, it tends to survive its creator... cool

There's Arch. You can turn that into an Archbang.

Though if you want to stick with debian, just make your own crunchbang.
