Re: A community continuation: BunsenLabs

I am enjoying the direction this is taking. I can't add anything already said so I will smile and nod and give a thumbs up  glasses

I don't know if this is the right place for suggestions, please kick me in the mouth if it isn't smile

Since I understand you are probably going to use lightdm instead of Slim, why not using light-locker instead of the fugly xscreensaver too? It's a really nice tool.

Re: A community continuation: BunsenLabs

Regarding the color change. I think an undertone change would accomplish much the same as an overt change. Philip did it with the switch from black -> gray and I think once again from 1 gray to another.

I have a terrible sense of color so I'm not going to attempt a mockup to illustrate... perhaps someone else was thinking along the same lines though.

Re: A community continuation: BunsenLabs

I just wanted to jump in here with a comment.. I've seen several threads in the last few days talking about color schemes and referring to the crunchbang color scheme as gray. I'm not sure where anyone is seeing gray. The crunchbang color scheme is closer to an olive green / teal mixture, and definitely not gray. Likewise, this forum is the same olive/teal color tone. The background is 46,52,54 which is not gray, nor even close to gray if you're looking at a calibrated monitor.

Anything is relative. #2E4A33 would be less grey. Not saying it's a good color though  big_smile

@grafikdes

The color is spelled... "grey" and Waldorf is about as grey as a Spring thunderstorm.

Good grief... lol

Re: A community continuation: BunsenLabs

Don't have much to add discussion-wise, but sad to see CrunchBang go. Anything I can do to help, let me know - esp. testing, have access to a bit of VM space wink

Re: A community continuation: BunsenLabs

@Developers: Would it be possible to demo a beta of BunsenLabs by late April, or am I dreaming? I will be visiting somebody who is looking for more after years of Ubuntu. He needs exactly this distro/Debian (...I have a feeling).

Re: A community continuation: BunsenLabs

My 2c.
The most important thing to myself about #! was the like on metal responsiveness in a VM compared to all others I have tried.
This is of paramount importance to me.
Please keep an eye on this during development.

^ Shirley Bindun; c.f. every release of CrunchBang.  It's the dev team that hasn't done anything like this before.  Buncha blind folks just learning to find our way around with tongue-clicks.
