Re: Wally - a Waldorf replica on a Jessie netinstall

Hi, is there a reason why following these instructions on Testing I have black and white tray icons while with Stable battery and bluethooh are not black and white?

Re: Wally - a Waldorf replica on a Jessie netinstall

Wally was just a stand-in until BunsenLabs got going.  I don't have an answer for your issue.  You might try installing BunsenLabs, change the repo to Testing, dist-upgrade, and then see if you still experience issues.

CHEAT SHEET

This is not a script! There's no error checking at all.
If you try to run all these commands in one go you'll very likely hit a problem half way through and get into a nasty mess.
Run them one at a time, and make sure things are OK before moving on to the next.

OK, starting from a bare Debian Jessie netinstall:
( Don't forget to leave the root password empty, so you get put in the sudo group. )

PART 1

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install policykit-1

Re: Wally - a Waldorf replica on a Jessie netinstall

If you have/can get a Waldorf iso, you could copy out the configs from it.

The themes are in `/usr/share/themes`;
backgrounds in /usr/share/backgrounds (I think);
user configs in `/etc/skel`;
tint2 was broken anyway, so install the one from the repos;
some of the pipemenus won't work;
lots of other tweaks I guess.

If you can install Waldorf: remove tint2 and tint2conf, change sources.list to testing, comment out the Crunchbang sources, then cross your fingers and dist-upgrade!

I think it would be easier to install BL, and change the repos to point to stretch/testing. BTW BL has fixed some of the bugs that CB had.

If you have further questions, then it is probably best to post in the Crunchbang section in the new BL forums - this place may be closed for new posts soon.
