Re: wifi works in ubuntu but not crunchbang et al

What type of WiFi card/chip do you have?  I think I've read that ThinkPads sometimes come with Broadcom WiFi cards/chips which can be an issue getting to work under Linux.  A newer kernel or playing around with ndiswrapper and the Windows driver may be solutions if your card/chip is indeed a Broadcom.

Re: wifi works in ubuntu but not crunchbang et al

@OP: you seem to have relatively new WiFi card, Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device [10ec:b723]. I don't think it will work under Waldorf wheezy, due to too old kernel

Here is what other people did (post #22, but all thread is worth reading).

Also, this seems interesting and relevant ...

Unfortunately, that's all I can say about it. Perhaps, you can search more via google ... keywords being: debian 10ec b723 or linux 10ec b723.

hello rybcznski, try to add backported repo in your source list and upgrade your kernel, be sure you have "firmware-realtek" installed
hope it will help
